Our History

What started as a dream became a reality in 1981. Bobbie Tuccinardi, with her attention to detail and valued business sense has shaped Sassy into one of the area’s finest hair and nail salons. On October 1st, 1981, Sassy began its long journey that would take it well into the 21st Century. Our business grow over the years as our clients have passed through phases of their lives. We look at 3 generations of clients who have become our friends and marveled at how the more things change over time, the more they remain the same.

What has never changed is Sassy culture. We’ve created one of openness, fairness and style. Sassy has been a team spirited organization, where all staff members work closely with other staff members to insure professional and consistent in all services.

Bobbie Tuccinardi, founder of Sassy, has worked over the years educating herself at such w as Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Minardi’s and Pivot Point. Bobbie has always felt education is the corner stone of our business. “It makes us true professionals in our craft.” This knowledge is shared with staff members on a regular basis. Bobbie has worked relentlessly in exploring new business ideas through Strategies, a management company in Centerbrook, CT. Their message is clear: Sassy’s vision remains on keeping our clientele not only well groomed but the main focus of our business.

After 30 wonderful and exciting years at Midtown Plaza, Bobbie decided it was time for a change. After meeting with her staff and careful consideration, we decided to relocate to beautiful Siesta Key. Located just 6 miles from Midtown Plaza, we have found the move was right for us. Within the Foxy Lady Boutique and looking out on our gorgeous beach, we truly are in Paradise. Sassy prides itself on being a top salon in the Sarasota area. Through constant staff education and attention, we pay to our client’s wishes, we are constantly building the Sassy name and becoming synonymous with style and professionalism.

We have also initiated a Client Rewards Program. Points are rewarded for services and purchases and can be used towards payment of future services. Sassy has every intentions of being a Top Salon in the Sarasota area. We are open 6 days a week, Tuesdays thru Sundays, for all of your beauty needs. Located across from Beach Access #5 at 209 Beach Road, Sarasota, where there is plenty of parking, we warmly invite you to join us.
