If you’re planning a destination wedding Joan was so helpful. Not only did she coordinate hair and make up for myself and my bridal party (we all looked amazing ) but she gave me names of other vendors for services I needed. Sassy is a 1 stop shop for wedding planning. Thanks Joan, Liz and Paige.

Why Are Balayage & The Ombre So Popular?

Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. It allows for a sun-kissed natural looking hair colour – similar to what nature gives us as children – with softer, less noticeable regrowth lines. The principal idea being less is more when creating soft, natural looks.

It’s a skilled technique that hasn’t been widely taught until recently. Now it’s becoming better known because all the models and A-listers are wearing it. Clients are seeing it on the catwalks and red carpets and want to get that finish rather than the uniform highlights that foils give.

Fall Preview

When a client asks me “What’s new in hair”?   This is a clear indication they want a change!
Change can be subtle or dramatic. What’s new is not nearly as important as “will what’s new look good on me”?
A small change, such as adding a side swept fringe to long hair can be huge to a client. The same can be said for adding brighter color around the face. This can perk up any shade of brunette.
Being aware of facial shapes and body type is so much more important than “what’s in” when styling a clients hair.
Be aware of “what’s in”, but being aware of the client as an individual is just as important!
